Cristina has been enthralled
by art and music since she could remember. While in high
school, she started creating promotional flyers for local music
venues in the Puget Sound, enabling her to combine her two favorite
elements. During the early 90’s she headed two art and music
collectives in Olympia – Reko Muse and The Un-Cola. She promoted music and art
events at the collectives and various other venues around the Northwest until
her move to Washington, D.C. in 1993.
While in D.C., she focused
more on painting. She has created paintings that
have been displayed in group shows, comic book anthologies, and
as an honorable mention in Mark Ryden's "Meat Inspired Art" contest,
which ran in Juxtapoz Culture and Art Magazine November/December
of 2001.
In 2001, Cristina returned
to Seattle to study digital art and web design at The Art Institute. Stigmatic
Media was launched in 2004, creating web sites and promotional materials
for clients nationwide. Cristina continues to paint along with the
more recent creation of her miniature “Dia de Los Muertas” inspired altar
boxes.
